Chat Sexual Health is not a live chat service, but our team aim to respond to all queries within 24 hours. This excludes weekends and bank holidays.
Is Chat Sexual Health a confidential service?
Chat Sexual Health is a confidential service and the privacy of our service users is very important to us. We do not usually inform your parents or other services unless we are concerned about your safety or the safety of others. In these instances, we will try to discuss this with you first. If you contact Chat Sexual Health your conversation will be saved and can be seen by other health care professionals with the HCRG Care Group, who also follow the same confidentiality rules. Who can access Chat Sexual Health?
If you are aged 13-18 living within Oldham, Bury, Rochdale, Teesside, Northern Lincolnshire or Cheshire West and Chester you can use this service.
You can access Chat Sexual Health from all UK mobile numbers. We are unable to accept messages from landlines, international mobile phones or mobile masking apps. Please don’t send voice notes, voice calls or picture messages to Chat Sexual Health.
How does Chat Sexual Health work?

Our Chat Sexual Health team will respond to messages between 9:00am-4:30pm Monday -Friday (excluding bank holidays). You can still send a text outside of these hours, but our Chat Sexual Health team will not see messages until the next working day. We aim to respond to all messages within one working day and you will receive a bounce back message to confirm that we have received your message. If you need help before you hear back from us you can contact NHS 111. You can end a conversation at anytime by texting STOP. This will normally prevent the Chat Sexual Health team from sending further messages to you.
